The e-commerce market was dominated by monolithic shop systems that were neither scalable nor suitable for multi-tenant operations. Merchants looking to launch an online shop faced a choice between expensive enterprise solutions and limited website builders. Updates and maintenance consumed enormous resources, and scaling with growing traffic was a constant challenge. A solution combining simplicity with enterprise functionality was missing.
We designed and developed a multi-tenant SaaS platform for e-commerce that enables automated provisioning of new shops within minutes. The microservice architecture allows independent scaling of individual components β product catalog, checkout, payment, shipping β based on load requirements. A central theme system with white-label capability gives each shop an individual appearance while backend updates are rolled out centrally.
The platform achieves 99.9% uptime and operates over 1,000 active shops. The average provisioning time for a new shop is 3 minutes.
