Starting Point

The challenge in real-time translation lay in combining high translation quality with minimal latency. Existing solutions offered either fast but inaccurate machine translations or high-quality results with unacceptable wait times of 5-10 seconds. For use cases like live conferences, international customer service chats, and global teams, none of the available solutions were practical.

Our Solution

We developed Ailuvio as an AI-powered translation platform that combines edge computing with optimized machine learning models. The architecture distributes translation requests across geographically distributed edge nodes running specially trained, compact language models. An intelligent routing system automatically selects the optimal node based on language pair, domain, and latency requirements. Context-aware caching and predictive translation further reduce perceived latency.

Results & Impact

Ailuvio achieves end-to-end latency of under 2 seconds across more than 50 supported languages. Translation quality averages a 94% BLEU score — comparable to professional translators. The platform processes over 2 million translation requests daily and is used by international companies for live meetings, support chats, and document translation.
